Department of B. Voc. Government College Dharamshala have organised a brief workshop on sustainable tourism
The Department of B. Voc Government College Dharamshala have organised a brief workshop on sustainable tourism in GDC Dharmshala for Hospitality and Tourism Students in collaboration with the Association for Conservation Tourism (ACT), and NOM (Not On Map). Mr. Tarsem Singh Jaryal has introduced the speaker and then invited the Nodal officer Dr. Ajay Kumar Choudhary to welcome the gathering and speaker and motivate the students. The workshop began with a Welcome Address by Dr. Ajay Kumar Choudhary Nodal Officer (B.Voc.) Department of Govt. College Dharamshala. He addressed the students with some motivational words and He accorded a warm and cordial welcome to Mr. Vishal Gurung and Mrs. Nilima Tamang from ACT. Nodal Officer Dr. Ajay Kumar Choudhary has appreciated the creative efforts done by Mr. Tarsem Singh Jaryal for inviting the guests and organizing the workshop. He acknowledged the presence of Guest Speaker Mr. Vishal Gurung and Mrs. Neelima Tamang along with Not on Map Team Mr. Rajesh and staff members, Mrs. Kanika Sood Mr. Anshul Rana,Mr. Rohit Sabharwal,Mrs. Shaishav Sharma, Mr. Kapil Sharma, Mr. Sanjeev Kapoor, Mr. Hitesh Sharma, Mr. Sushank Gupta and students of Hospitality and Tourism who were present in the workshop. Mr. Tarsem Jaryal has read the profile of Mr. Vishal Gurung and His wife Mrs Tamang and welcomed them for the session. Mr Vishal Gurung and Mrs Nilima Tamang created awareness among the students on conserving the natural resources culture heritage and waste management. The workshop was activity based to enhance active listening and participation visual presentation was shown to create a sensible impact on the young minds. ACT was co-founded by Mr. Raj Basu, popularly known known as Tourism Gandhi. And aims to equip Tourism students and local communities with the necessary skills and knowledge to harness the potential of tourism while preserving the unique cultural and environmental assets of the region.
From team NOM co-ordinator Rajesh Kumar has said that this initiative has been started from Kullu district covering the other district mandi Kangra and has to end in chamba. He has said that Kumar Anubhav CEO of NOM and advisor of culture and heritage in UNESCO.
Nodal Officer Dr. Ajay Kumar Choudhary welcomed the guest and said that we believe that the success of such initiatives lies in active tourism students and community involvement. As speaker said that ACT and NotOnMap, are committed to fostering sustainable rural communities and enhancing livelihoods by transforming them into vibrant tourist destinations. In pursuit of this goal, they have conducted this workshop in collaboration with The Department of B.Voc.
B.Voc Department has organized a comprehensive training cum workshop conducted on ‘Hospitality and Sustainability for Communities in Himachal.’ B.Voc. Hospitality & Tourism Students attended.
Finally, Mr. Vishal Gurung, Lecturer ended the session with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Ajay Kumar Choudhary Nodal officer B.Voc. Department and Mr. Tarsem Singh Jaryal.
