The Independence Day was celebrated with great zeal and patriotic fervour in Government Degree College Dharamshala on 15th August 2025. The programme commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag in the college premises by the Principal, accompanied by the NCC Officers and cadets. The cadets saluted the Tricolour and joined in singing the National Anthem, filling the atmosphere with patriotic spirit.

Following the flag hoisting, the NCC cadets organised a Tiranga Rally , holding the national flag high and chanting patriotic slogans, the cadets spread the message of unity, freedom, and national pride among the citizens.

Later, the cadets participated in the district-level Independence Day function organised by the local administration, where Chaudhary Chander Kumar, Hon’ble Agriculture Minister, was the chief guest. On this occasion, he also felicitated Parade Commander Shikha Thakur of 1 HP Girls Bn NCC Solan.  The cadets’ disciplined turnout and spirited participation was highly appreciated by the dignitaries.

The celebration concluded with a solemn ceremony at the War Memorial, where the cadets paid homage to the brave martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation. Floral tributes were offered, and a two-minute silence was observed in their honour.

The event not only honoured the nation’s freedom but also instilled a deeper sense of responsibility, discipline, and patriotism among the cadets.
